Lotus’s, awayness, and physics teachers

Saturday me and dad headed down to Castle Combe in the terrible weather, with the hood down. We got to the track in a fairly quick time, I think the average speed was legal, after a bit of confusion about which entrance we should use we found our way. Bloody first car that caught my eye was a Ferrari 612 and the huge Ford GT parked next door. Pulled into a space, next to the Ford, put the lid up and proceeded to wonder the car park which was full of some very nice Lotus’s, overly populated by Elise’s but hey. We took a stroll up to the track and watched a few cars go around, some much faster than others, there was an Esprit doing a fair rate of knots even though its a mid engined car in the wet. Didn’t see anyone spinoff, a let down (assuming the occupants were not injured, or the car!)
We returned to wondering the car park and looking at some of the really nice cars scattered around I spotted a new Exige S which was the Club Lotus chairman’s car, git. There was a good cross section of Lotus cars on show, Elan’s, Eclat’s, Esprit’s, Europa’s, Eclat’s, Excel’s and of course the more recent Elise’s and Exige’s, toggled with some of the older and rarer cars, even saw a Ford Lotus Cortina (dad wants one of their engines for his boat, it has a cortina engine it currently.) After meeting with some other Elan owners we decided to join the parade laps over lunch so, off we went in search of a pass to get on to the track, pass obtained we jumped into the car and toodled off towards the track waiting with all the others. It may have been raining but we still went topless, got a ‘little’ wet but it was worth it :)

Physics teachers; well all I can say is why couldn’t this guy tought me?

Ohhh and I am going to be away Tuesday (tomorrow) to Friday.
